Heart Specialist Now Seeing Patients at Winsted HealthCenter

Interventional cardiologist and vascular medicine specialist Dr. Joseph Ingrassia of the Hartford HealthCare Heart & Vascular Institute is now accepting patients at the Hartford HealthCare HealthCenter, 80 South Main Street, in Winsted. He will be seeing patients on level two in the new building’s specialty services Suite 203.

Dr. Ingrassia has expertise in Vascular Medicine, Endovascular Intervention, Coronary Artery Disease, Peripheral Arterial Disease, and Pulmonary Embolism. He graduated from Ross University Medical School in North Brunswick, NJ, and completed his Residency and Internship in Internal Medicine at the University Of Connecticut School of Medicine in Farmington.

Dr. Ingrassia has several fellowships, including Vascular Medicine and Endovascular Intervention from Columbia University in New York, Interventional Cardiology from Hartford Hospital and the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, and Cardiovascular Diseases also at the University Of Connecticut School of Medicine. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, Interventional Cardiology, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology and is a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation.

Hartford HealthCare and Charlotte Hungerford Hospital recently opened the nearly 30,000-square-foot healthcare center at the corner of routes 8 and 44 in Winsted in early January. The three-level building houses an Emergency Department open daily 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., mammography, CAT Scan, occupational and physical therapy, cardiac Rehab, Hartford HealthCare Medical Group Primary Care and Specialty Care services including Cardiology, General Surgery, GI and OB/GYN.  The location also features a helipad for LIFESTAR medical transport and two electric vehicle charging stations.
