Akeem Green Promoted to Nurse Manager

Akeem Green has accepted the position of Nurse Manager of the ED Observation Unit, effective April 22, 2024. Akeem has been a nurse with Hartford Hospital since 2018 on the Inpatient Rehab Unit (IRU). During this time, Akeem has made a notable impact on his unit through his participation in a number of continuous improvement strategies. He is active in quality and safety initiatives, participating in both the HH Skin Champ and Infectious Disease Champ programs.

Through his work as a Skin Champ, he was able to drive his unit to a 25% reduction in HAPIs last year. He has also led efforts in the IRU to improve patient throughput and operational efficiency. Akeem is a Nursing Council member and has collaborated with a number of leaders throughout the organization on efforts to promote colleague support, staff development and diversity. Akeem’s vision for excellence in patient care closely aligns with that of our team and we are confident that he will be outstanding addition to our department.
