Conditions & Treatments

A trip to the Emergency Room can be confusing and even frightening – especially if it’s the first time. Hartford HealthCare's Emergency Services is one of the best in New England, staffed with specially trained physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, emergency nurses, assistants and technicians.

The pain, fever and other symptoms caused by kidney stones is a common reason people come into the Emergency Department. Experts from the Hartford HealthCare Tallwood Urology & Kidney Institute Kidney Stone Program work closely with emergency providers to quickly identify and effectively treat kidney stones. Depending on your situation, you may be treated immediately or referred to the Kidney Stone Program for follow up.

Departments & Services

Upon arrival, a triage nurse will talk to you about your condition and decide the level of care you will need.
